Courtesy of riyadh art the third prize is awarded to kim de ruysscher, who poses through his sculpture entitled unseen, an open enigma in which the idea of figuration is questioned by the concept of illusion through covering. 20 artists’ work on display & more! The Tuwaiq International Sculpture Symposium, Part Of Saudi Arabia’s Public Festival Riyadh Art, Has Announced The Winners Of Its 2021 Event.


The first and second symposia, in 2019 and 2020, were held in riyadh’s diplomatic quarter. Twenty artists from around the world will attend the symposium and create new works inspired by tuwaiq mountain — one of the kingdom’s most famous landmarks — from local white marble. Anna korver from new zealand claims first prize, while haider alawi al alawi and kim de ruysscher have been recognised for second and third place, respectively.
